Saturday, March 20, 2010: Gunston Hall's 31st Annual Kite Festival

Gunston Hall opens its spacious meadows to the kite-flying public for its Annual Kite Festival, March 20 from noon to 5:00 p.m. Activities include a puppet show, hands-on archaeology, open-hearth cooking, and a modern-day fire truck. Bring your own kite or purchase one from the Museum Shop. On-site "doctors" will mend kites free of charge. Costumed characters introduce 18^th-century games, penmanship with a real quill pen and basket weaving. Food service is available for a picnic, and baked goods from the Gunston Hall Docents Association will be offered for purchase. Event held rain or shine!
