Are you Racing for the Cure?

The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure comes to Washington D.C. on Saturday, June 5th!  As a cancer survivor this event is dear to my heart.  I will never forget the day that I went into Georgetown hospital for my bone marrow transplant. It was a Saturday, and all around the unit, were women in pink shirts.  Many family members, friends, and nurses had been part of the Race for the Cure that morning and the image has stayed with my ever since.

The Race for the Cure does so many things for the National Capital area!  Last year, the race raised $4.7 million for local education and community outreach programs that work tirelessly to assist vulnerable populations. Some organizations that received grants this year include: Whitman-Walker Clinic on 14th Street, Food and Friends, Georgetown
University and Sibley Memorial Hospital.

Anyone can sign up for the race at www.globalraceforthecure.org

Don't miss out on being part of this fantastic cause!
